2022 Artist Mentee

Jenny Steele offers mentoring sessions to artists to support and develop their creative practice long term, whether you are a recent graduate, returning to creating after a break, or need support through a specific project.

Jenny has been practicing as an artist full time for 6 years and has experience of delivering a wide range of commissions and public projects, working with a variety of audiences and partners. Prior to this Jenny has been creating work since 2002, around part- and full-time lecturing jobs in Higher and Further Education in Fine Art, as well as project management and administration in the private gallery sector.

Mentoring sessions can offer support with the following challenging aspects of working as a contemporary artist:

Finding and obtaining opportunities appropriate to your practice, exhibiting in group and solo projects, finding and working with partners, clarifying and setting short- and long-term goals, managing time, applying for funding, marketing, self promotion and much more.

Fees for mentoring with Jenny have been included in successful bids for funding from Arts Council England Grants, both within Developing Your Creative Practice and Project Grants.

Jenny offers 1-3 sessions, which are 1 hour in length and carried out via zoom, or in person if located in the Manchester area. Limited sessions are available each year around her own creative practice.
